Atlanta Macrobiotic Cooking Classes
Welcome to Atlanta Macrobiotics Cooking Classes, designed to benefit your particular needs, and meet you at exactly the level you venture to Macrobiotics! Brand new? This is our niche, to ease your beginning steps as you transition your skills and embrace this whole new adventure into a wonderfully healthier lifestyle.
We wish to make this new way of cooking easy, fun, quick and delicious for you! And to share the ohmygosh, this makes so much sense discovery Fred and I found when we first learned about macrobiotics. What does this huge word mean, anyway! Well, lots of good things. Health, peace of mind, being at one with nature, and embracing the whole life! It means the freedom to enjoy health and a whole new perspective of life again.
That’s what we found, after Fred’s heart surgery in 1992, quite a few years ago. And macrobiotics has helped Fred win out against all the statistics shared with us at the hospital education lecture. He’s more than tripled the years of life expectancy offered way back then, and looks younger, feels stronger than we remember him being for a very long time! As we get ready to celebrate a very special wedding anniversary this coming June 16th, we are very, very grateful for this generous way of life, and all the macrobiotic teachers we’ve enjoyed meeting these past 17 years.
And that’s how our Macrobiotic Cooking Classes started way back when! Michio Kushi said one day to me, you’ll make a very fine teacher one day, and I was amazed. Gosh I thought, I’d taught English Literature, had my Master’s from Michigan, and that was a whole other field. But when he says, One Grain, One Thousand, and explains how we grow this knowledge, I realized teaching was teaching, no matter what the subject, and just as I poured my heart into Shakespeare, and Emily Dickinson, inspiring non-students towards college, I grasped the importance to jolt others towards this way of life benefitting my dear Fred and myself. This became my new passion. Finding the words to share, the way to entice the skeptic, the non-believer, those who had given up on their health. On any chance of recovery.
And then the rewards. One by one began improving. Just like my own health improved – the side effect of improving Fred’s health, each of my clients felt better, received glowing reports from their doctors, heard compliments from their friends – began embracing macrobiotics. Forming a sense of community. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.
And we were bringing Macrobiotic Counselors and Cooking Teachers direct to Atlanta from the Kushi Institute. Not just anyone, but the finest senior counselors, teachers and authors of favorite macrobiotic cookbooks. Ed and Wendy Esko, William Spear, Jane and Lino Stanchich, Cary Wolff to name a few, and now Warren Kramer. Warren was Mr. Kushi’s private assistant for over eleven years following William Spear in that position. A non-paying position, valued for the opportunity to learn aside this brilliant mind, the technique of oriental diagnosis and macrobiotic suggestions based on yin and yang, to bring the body back to balance, recreating health.
So we invite you to join our Atlanta Macrobiotic Cooking Classes and learn with us the newest techniques continually developed by Warren Kramer, who together with Denny Waxman in Philadelphia and Michio Kushi are keeping macrobiotics current with the times in which we live. Current as the changing society moves us even more rapidly, and we seek balance, and the chance for that sweet still moment in time in which we consider our health, our lives, what’s truly important day-to-day, deep inside. The legacy we truly wish to represent to our children and our loved ones, the path of health we’d like them to embrace as well. The sense of who we are, as we are complete in health of mind, body, spirit. Becoming that change we wish to see in the world.
